Crafting Kilts with Passion and Tradition
Meet Fuensanta Guerrero Alba, Kiltmaker & Designer
Born in Spain and now based in Scotland, I fell in love with tartan not only for its beauty, but for what it represents; belonging, identity, heritage and pride.
Kilt-making is a discipline of patience and precision. A single bespoke kilt takes around 30 hours to create. Every pleat is measured, cut and shaped by hand. The structure of the garment must move naturally with the body while maintaining its integrity.
From Spain to Scotland
I grew up in Spain surrounded by textiles, developing a deep love for making and design from an early age. After moving to Scotland, I discovered kiltmaking, a craft that soon became both a passion and a profession.
This is not fast fashion
My approach to kiltmaking is rooted in slow fashion, where patience, precision and respect for tradition guide every stitch. I believe garments should be made to last, with care taken to craft pieces that will be worn and treasured for decades.

Santalba Kilts brings together the landscapes, cultures and stories of two countries, combining Spanish flair with Scottish heritage craft. Based in the Highlands, the studio is dedicated to preserving traditional techniques while embracing thoughtful, contemporary design.

Santalba designs have been featured in Hola! Magazine (Spanish edition), worn by well-known celebrity Belinda Washington. The brand has also appeared in a short film connected to Glenmorangie, part of a campaign featuring Harrison Ford, where a Clan Chief is seen playing the pipes while wearing a Santalba kilt.
